Orlando, FL

Brian had a week-long management class in Orlando. Patrick and I decided to join him mid-week for a mini vacation. We had free passes from our company to Universal Studios, and my niece (who works at Disney) got us into Magic Kingdom for free. Good deal all around!

We stayed at the Loews Royal Pacific Resort at Universal Orlando. Even though we're not fans of big resorts (we prefer more intimate hotels), we thought the resort was nice, the food was really good and the staff was super nice.

On our first night in Orlando, look who we ran into? Scooby Doo! We were having dinner at the Islands Dining Room restaurant when Scooby Doo stopped by to say hi.

There are several advantages to staying on Universal property. You can take a free water taxi to Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure. Your room key allows you to go to the Fast Lane for all the rides.

We thought Islands of Adventure was a lot of fun but found Universal Studioes to be a bit lame. Patrick LOVED the roller coasters. Who knew?!
